Whether you’re a complete newbie or just looking to brush up on your skills, our experienced instructors and mentors are here to guide you through the basics. From greenware to bisque, to mastering glaze techniques or hand-building your own creation, we’ve got you covered.

Students work on two projects (a plate as pictured above) and Fetish Bear (pictured below) over 2 1/2 days.  You MUST COMMIT to all three days to complete your projects. Students learn how to clean greenware, use underglazes and crystals, and other introductory techniques.

Class begins at 8:45am and runs through 1pm for the first 2 days (each day is separated by a week to allow for firing time). The last day will start at 10am through 2pm where you will complete your Fetish Bear by adding texture and embellishments as shown above.

Class fee is $75 (for 2 1/2 days) and includes all greenware, paints, glazes and firing of projects as well as a Starter Kit filled with brushes and tools. We are open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 3pm.  Please see the monitor for assistance.

FAQs

Do I need to take the Introductory Class to join the club?

The short answer is no. However, it is highly recommended that you take the class (regardless of your past experience with ceramics) to ensure that you are up to date on changes that have occured in the use of glazes and their application, as well as the process used for cleaning your greenware, and submitting your piece for firing. Another benefit is that you’ll receive a starter kit containing brushes, cleaning tools, and other items you’ll need to get started on your first project.

Can I take a tour of the studio?

We welcome the opportunity to show off our facility and all of the molds and equipment equipment used on the creating process. A member of our team will be on hand to show you around and answer your questions. We are open from 10:00am to 3:00pm Monday through Saturday (except for class days).

Where are you located?

The SaddleBrooke Ceramics Club is located in the Mountview Clubhouse complex on Mountain View Blvd. You’ll find our studio in the Arts and Crafts Center, Quartz Room, across the parking lot from the tennis courts.

Who can join?

All SaddleBrooke residents may join the Ceramics Club.
